Медицинская страховка

Медицинская страховка является обязательной в Британской Колумбии. Пакет медицинской страховки Британской Колумбии ( MSP ) распространяется на всех иностранных школьников после трех месяцев ожидания, который состоит из остатка месяца прибытия плюс еще два месяца. Чтобы получить этот пакет иностранному школьнику необходимо предоставить в школьный округ свой паспорт и студенческую визу с датой прибытия в Канаду. Для получения дальнейшей информации смотрите:

Health Insurance B.C. will cover all international students after the end of a three month waiting period. Health Insurance B.C. coverage is required by law in B.C. for all B.C. residents. To apply for this coverage, the international student must apply at this office with a passport and the current Study Permit upon arrival in the school district. At the end of the waiting period, Health Insurance B.C. will mail a Care Card to the student. Once the student has a Care Card number, he or she will receive medical services in the same manner as all British Columbians. Each Care Card has an expiry date. To renew the Care Card, students must provide the International Education office with a copy of the renewed study permit. This must be done every year while the international student remains in BC.

During the three-month waiting period for MSP coverage, the school district purchases private medical coverage on behalf of all of the international students. Effective December 15, 2006, we will be covered by:

Each International student is given a Campus Care pamphlet by the International Education Program staff. In case of illness or injury, the international student may visit any doctor or clinic. The following local clinics will provide service and directly invoice Campus Care: Carepoint Medical Centre, Burquitlam Plaza and Carepoint Medical Centre in Coquitlam Centre. For medical attention at clinics other than Carepoint and for hospitals you please read the directions in the policy or contact Claims Assistance at 1-866-595-7172 or (905)-315-3255.
